As we celebrate International Women’s Day, it’s only right to highlight some of the most influential women in the insurance industry today. Women account for more than 60% of insurance roles in the industry and are continuing to soar higher every year.

We have listed 5 of the most inspirational women in the insurance industry below. Take a moment to learn more about them as we celebrate this International Women’s Day!

Amanda Blanc

Amanda is known as the Group CEO of the UK’s leading insurance business, Aviva. The business has over 18 million customers and over 300 years of insurance history. She was previously successful in prior executive roles at AXA, Zurich, and Towergate Insurance before joining Aviva as CEO in 2020. Blanc has been recognized for her achievements on the Financial Times’ list- naming the 25 most influential women of 2022. She was also named Sunday Times’ business person of the year!

Pravina Ladva

Pravina is the CDTO (Chief Digital & Technology Officer) for Swiss Re, a major reinsurance company. She has had extensive experience in executive roles prior to this position, including Digital Transformation Officer at Swiss Re, Program Manager for Abbey, and Officer/Managing Director of Global Change Management at Barclayard. She is determined to use technology to better her company’s culture, success, and transformations throughout the years.

Vicky Wills

Vicky Wills is CTO (Chief Technology Officer) at Zego, a motor Insurtech company based in London. She has previously worked as a lead engineer for an online fashion company and has also been CTO of the company Opendesk, a home furnishing manufacturer. As a current senior leader, she now has over 10 years of experience in the digital/technology industry!

Laura Hollerich

Laura Hollerich is an insurance leader with over 30 years of experience in the industry. Her main accomplishments are focused around driving growth in global personal and commercial insurance. She is now EY Americas Insurance Distribution and Sales Optimization Leader. Prior to her current role, she held other senior positions at Tave Risk Management, Accenture, QBE Insurance, and Texas-based XL Group.

Jennifer Fitzgerald

To finish off our list of inspiring women in insurance is Jenna Fitzgerald; CEO and Co-Founder of Policygenius. Her company is a US online insurance marketplace where customers can find coverage for home insurance, life insurance, and car insurance. She co-founded the business in 2013 and has been successful ever since, helping over 30 million people find the coverage they need.  Fitzgerald has been included in Fast Company’s list of the 100 Most Creative People in Business.
